We named our company “Beyond Vision” after our camera. It allows us to “see” things invisible to our eyes, with usage and applications in many different areas. Our FlexCam infrared camera is radiometric thermal imaging color system that enables us to accurately determine the temperature of any surface at a distance. So, what do temperature differences tell us?
IR technology is being used to quickly identify not only moisture issues, but problems associated with excessive heat in electrical systems, clogs and leaks in plumbing systems, flat roof leaks, HVAC duct leaks, energy conservation issues (interior and exterior), missing insulation in wall systems and attics, post fire hot spot identification, predictive maintenance…the list goes on due to the problem solving nature of the IR technology. We capture the thermal image, add digital photos for reference points and provide a written report on our findings.
Jac Reid and Cristy Christie started Beyond Vision out of a recognized need related to their roofing business. Flat roofs are sometimes very difficult to ascertain the source of water intrusion. Infrared technology proved to be a surefire way to locate a problem area without destructive invasion and often times repair a roof that might otherwise have been considered irreparable.
Jac is a Snell Certified Thermographer and has a long background in the solar field. Cristy, a CA licensed real estate broker, feels strongly about home buyers using IR technology to obtain valuable information during their decision making process. Both Jac and Cristy think that working with contractors and home inspectors can prove to be complementary. Homeowners concerned with the energy efficiency of their homes will quickly learn the value of the IR survey as those who have radically lowered their energy bills will attest.
